We worked closely with Ernie Le Feurve to install the first commercial vehicle test lane for an operator in Jersey, D B CUMMINS LTD. Their new workshop features the following Liftmaster Equipment:
The inspection pit and brake tester will help ensure the company, which has a fleet of 35 road-going vehicles, complies with the DVSA's Operator Licencing. Kevin Howard, Commercial Manager at Liftmaster, assisted with the layout design of the test lane. Installing the 13-metre pre-fabricated pit and casette for the commercial brake tester was a major part of the installation. The computerised breake testing is the first piece of equipment you see on arrival. The commercial play detectors, which check for suspension wear, are fitted either side of the pit with a hydraulic control unit fitted in a side recess. The aluminium sliding platforms on the inspection pit allow the chassis area of a the vehicle can be inspected by the technician. The 20-ton air operated jacking beam completed the underside of the inspection equipment. A headlamp beam tester has been installed at the end of the lane to check alignment. D B Cummins Ltd intend to run regular tests on their fleet, probably every six weeks.
